How to Install
Your New Clog Free Line Unit

Follow these simple steps to install your new Clog Free Line unit to prevent drain clogs and algae build-up.

1

Locate Your HVAC System

Locate your HVAC unit, which can generally be found in the attic, basement, or even outdoors. Once found, look for a pan underneath it with a 3/4-inch PVC pipe coming out of it. Before you begin installing your Clog Free Line, be sure to turn off your HVAC system to avoid any accidents.

2

Find the Primary Drain Line

The primary drain line is the 3/4-inch PVC pipe at the bottom of your HVAC unit. Look for a T-shaped junction in the pipe with a vertical outlet. If there’s a cap on it, take it off and replace it with the 3/4-inch cap that came with your unit. This cap has a small hole with clear tubing inserted into it. Make sure the T-junction is as close to the HVAC unit as possible.

3

Find an Outlet

Find an outlet in your attic to plug your device in. You can either use an extension cord, or set up your unit near the outlet if it’s close to the primary drain line.

4

Add a T-Junction if Missing

If there’s no T-junction in your primary drain line, you’ll need to install one. If you find the process complicated, we recommend that you hire a professional. If you decide to install it yourself, make sure all parts of the T-junction are properly connected and glued, except for the cap.

5

Attach the Included 3/4-Inch Cap to the T-Junction

Once the T-junction is in place, just attach the included 3/4-inch PVC cap to the top of the T. Make sure the clear tubing goes into the T. Also, be sure not to glue the cap. It’s meant to be removable and doesn’t need to be glued on.

6

Fill the Reservoir and Plug in the Unit

Once you've completed each step, your unit will be ready for its first cycle. Fill it with vinegar or a cleaning agent of your choice, put the top back on the reservoir, and plug it in. Once plugged in, the unit will start its first cycle. It’s preprogrammed to run for 85 seconds, and dispense about 1 cup of cleaning agent every 30 days. Make sure that the T-junction is placed as close to the HVAC unit as possible. This way, the vinegar will flow downward and reach the entire drain line.

Note: We provide installation services for $300–$350, with an optional 16-point inspection package for $400. These services are available exclusively within the Greater Houston area.
